Join your peers on November 8 for a discussion on The Dr. Carolyn Coker Ross Show: Binge Eating Disorder, Stress Eating, Emotional Eating, Food Addiction podcast. We will be discussing Episode 89: Binge Eating, Ethnicity, and Trauma. You can access the podcast on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or Stitcher.

Synopsis:
"Health and weight are not synonymous."
Behaviors such as binge eating, compulsive overeating, emotional eating, and food obsessions are part of systems of power that rank human bodies by size and race and create an illusion that health and virtue are obtained by being thin. Being controlled by size and food is still an accepted way of controlling the futures of women, leading them to wait to have the lives they deserve and desire until they can change their size.

What you'll learn in this podcast episode:
1. Is the BMI a racist measurement?
2. Why is it so hard to give up binging?
3. How graham crackers started as a diet food.
4. How diets fail us, while making us feel like we are failures.
