Speakers

Whitney Linsenmeyer, PhD, RD, LD (she/her)

Whitney Linsenmeyer is an assistant professor of nutrition at Saint Louis University and a spokesperson for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Her research and clinical practice center on nutrition care for the transgender community.  Her current research projects center on advancing inclusion of transgender and gender diverse identities in clinical education, understanding food insecurity among trans youth and their families, and transforming sport and fitness spaces to be more trans-inclusive.  She is passionate about the powerful role that nutrition and physical activity can play in the lives of transgender individuals.

Jen Waters, PhD, RDN, LDN (she/her)

Jennifer Waters is a Dietetic Internship Director and Research Lead for Sodexo Healthcare and an Adjunct Professor at the University of Rhode Island and Towson University in Maryland. Her research is centered on the impact of feminizing and masculinizing hormone therapy on nutrition-relevant outcomes and on the readiness and training of dietitians and dietetics students to care for transgender and gender-diverse patients. She is passionate about overcoming barriers to educating future and currently practicing healthcare professionals on gender-affirming care.
